Canadian artist Hyein Lee is an engineer-turned-illustrator and motion graphics designer, who left behind the security of a regular job in order to pursue her dreams. Her work is populated by lonesome, humble and friendly monsters which depict melancholy moments with cuddly-toy appeal. Autobiographical in content, these intimate diary-like drawings are often a direct translation of the artist’s feeling. Her work has been published in magazines such as This, Shameless, Ricepaper, and Applied Arts. As a motion graphic designer, she makes music videos and works with film makers. She teaches Illustration at Sheridan College and Motion Graphics Continuing Studies at OCAD University.
